MINNEAPOLIS - North Central University (3-4, 1-0 UMAC) defeated Oak Hills Christian College (1-10) in overtime, 119-116. The Rams shot a season-high 42-of-77 (54.5 percent) from the floor and 17-of-27 (63 percent) from three-point range. Jared High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) had a season-high as well scoring 33 points, just four points shy of his career-high of 39 points (March 10, 2016 - vs. Arlington Baptist). Joel Cline (Green Bay, Wis./Southwest) led the Rams defensive efforts with 13 rebounds, one block, and one steal on the final play of the night to seal the win for North Central.
The Wolfpack got on the board first off a miscue during tip-off and took a commanding 16-10 lead after the first four minutes of play. North Central promptly went on a 15-4 run and earning the lead after four consecutive three-points shots. At halftime the game was within six points before Oak Hills Christian outscored the Rams in the second half and tie the game forcing overtime. The Rams and Wolfpack traded buckets and free throws before a foul on Oak Hills with five seconds left in the game sent CJ Lewis (Minneapolis, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy) to the free-throw line where he hit both shots giving North Central the three point lead. On the inbounding pass, Cline stepped in front for the steal giving the Rams the ball resulting in the win.
