Loukinen Brace Gives Rams Win Over Providence

MINNEAPOLIS - North Central Men's Soccer (4-4-2, 1-3-2 UMAC) defeated Providence University College (5-2) on Saturday afternoon in Elliot Park in a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) matchup on a socre of 4-3. The Rams offense got started early scoring three goals in ten minutes. Jake Loukinen (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls) had two goals on three shots for the Rams.

Josue Boutouli (Lome, Togo/Eagan) got the Rams on the board first giving the Rams the lead that they never relinquished. Nick Walker (Spencer, Ind./Owen Valley) went into the referee's book with a straight red card in the 6th minute for a physical play on a Providence player that saw him fall back into the bench making contact with his head. North Central played the final 84 minutes of play with ten men. Shortly after the red card, Danny Williams (Coon Rapids, Minn./Spring Lake Park) gave the Rams the 2-0 lead and a urge of momentum despite being down a player. In the 10th minute Loukin got his first goal of the game and extending the Rams lead to 3-0 and the confidence needed to sustain the Providence attempted comeback. Loukinen scored again in the 76th minute of the game for his first brace of the season.
