MINNEAPOLIS - North Centra Men's Soccer (4-4-3, 1-3-3 UMAC) and the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings (1-11-1, 0-7-1 UMAC) fought through 110 minutes to a 2-2 draw in a Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) matchup on Wednesday evening in Elliot Park. The Rams jumped out ahead of Bethany Lutheran but gave up a goal in each half to end with their third draw of the season against the Vikings. Both teams ended with 16 shots but the Rams held the advantage on corner kicks, 5-1.
Riley Loukinen (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls) got the Rams on the board first in the 10th minute on a rebound in front of net from a corner kick. The Rams quickly doubled the lead with a goal from Junior Kaleb Smith (Kijabe, Kenya/Rift Vally Academy). The Vikings cut the Rams lead back to one goal in the 35th minute. At the half, the Rams lead 2-1 en route to their second UMAC victory but the Vikings would tie it up less than 20 minutes into the second half. At the end of regulation it was 2-2 with two overtime periods lingering. Both teams had their chances in the final two periods but couldn't find the back of the net. Gabe Hartwig (Eagle River, Wis./Northland Pines) had eight saves on the day for the Rams in net.
