Rams Stung By Yellowjackets

SUPERIOR, Wis. - North Central University Men's Soccer (4-6-3, 2-6-3 UMAC) fell to The University of Wisconsin-Superior (11-6-1, 8-1-1 UMAC), 6-2, on Saturday afternoon in a Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) matchup. North Central were dominant in the first 45 minutes of play but the Yellowjackets responded in the second half to finish in with the win.

In the first half of play Superior scored first in the 27th minute but North Central responded ten minutes later with back-to-back goals from Josue Boutouli (Lome, Togo/Eagan) giving the Rams a 2-1 lead going into halftime. Two minutes into the second half Superior got on the board tying the game a two goals apiece and didn't give up a goal for the rest of the game. In the 64th minute Superior's Harry Simpson recieved a red card for an inappropriate comment made during the run of play. Despite being a man down the Yellowjackets scored three unanswered goals en route to the win. Superior outshot North Central, 26-8, and secured more corner kicks, 11-2, than the Rams.

Up Next: North Central will be on the road for a UMAC matchup with the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday Oct. 25 in Duluth, Minn. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m.
