DULUTH, Minn. - North Central Men's Soccer (5-7-3, 2-6-2 UMAC) fell to The College of St. Scholastica Saints (12-6, 10-1 UMAC), 5-0, in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon. Scholastica outshot North Central, 17-7 and on corner kicks awarded, 3-2.
Scholastica got on the board in the 18th minute on a goal from UMAC goal-scoring leader, Luke Buckton, on a chip over Gabe Hartwig's (Eagle River, Wis./Northland Pines) head. The Saints and Rams were 1-0 at the half in favor of Scholastica. In the 49th minute Scholastica doubled their lead to 2-0 on a header redirected into goal. The Rams despite being down 2-0 had their chances against the Saints but couldn't convert. In the 59th minute North Central's Hartwig recieved a red card for denying a goal-scoring opportunity and was sent off for the remainder of the game and season. Chris Parker (Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg) finished out the game for the Rams in net. Scholastica dominated the rest of the game with the Rams being a man down on the field eventually adding three more goals to the win.
