BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wisconsin - The North Central University men's and women's cross country teams were in action on Friday for their second meet of the short fall season. The Rams competed at the Falcon Invitational in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Both sqauds were unable to post a team score in the events, but were led by an impressive showing from freshman, Micah Filer on the men's side and Raen Barcelon on the women's side.
Micah Filer, running in his second collegiate race of his young career took 9th place overall for the Rams as he posted a 28:15 for the 8,000 meter race. Filer posted a mile pace of 5:41 on the course. Kaleb Gunderson posted a 31:58 for 35th place overall. Austin Hagemeister followed close behind coming in at 39th place overall with a time of 33:41. Brody Elg rounded out the runners for the men's squad as he posted a 34:31 for 42nd place overall.
On the women's side the Rams were led by Raen Barcelon as she finished in 33rd place with a time of 27:17. Bri Griffin posted a 31:41 for a 49th place finish and was followed by Aine Enget who posted a 35:30 to round out the competitors for the women's team.
Both Ram squads will be back in action next Saturday, August 15th at the Augsburg Invitational in Bloomington, Minnesota at Hyland Greens Golf Club. The men are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. with the women's race scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
