Rams Shutout by Eagles in Home Finale

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central looked to be keeping within reach for the first four innings before The University of Northwestern pulled away to defeat the Rams in five innings on Friday afternoon. The Eagles claimed a 14-0 victory over NCU in the Rams final home game of the season.

North Central fell behind in the first inning but trailed just 3-0 after four full innings on Friday at East Phillips Park. But Northwestern slammed the Rams for 11 runs on 10 hits in the top of the fifth to take control. North Central was able to load the bases with one out in their part of the frame but were unable to get any thing across to keep the game alive.

Sophomore Megan Myers (Cannon Falls, Minn./Randolf) was 1-3 while senior Paisley Bennett (Monroe, Wis./Monroe) and freshman Amanda Johnson (Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley) were each 1-2 at the plate.

The Rams wrap up their season on Saturday when they take on The College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.) at 1 p.m. The double-header was originally scheduled to be played at the Saints home field in Duluth but rain and snow earlier this week caused the game to moved. CSS will now host NCU at Forest Lake High School (Forest Lake, Minn.). For directions to Forest Lake High school click here.
