CHICAGO - North Central Women's Basketball (2-2) defeated Illinois Technical Institute (0-5), 67-47, in a non-conference matchup against the Scarlet Hawks in Chicago, Illinois. The Rams outscored the Scarlet Hawks in three of thr four quarters and shot 24-of-58 (41.4 percent) from the floor and 11-of-32 (34.4 percent) from three-point range. North Central also outrebounded Illinois Tech., 45-36.
The Rams opened the game with 8-1 and 10-0 runs over the Scarlet Hawks. In the first quarter, NCU outscored Illinois Tech. 23-9 and 13-10 in the second quarter. Lizzy Swanson (Askov, Minn./East Central) returned to the Rams starting lineup after missing the first three games with an injury. In her return she lead the Rams with 27 points and seven boards. Bethany Shield (Lincoln, Neb./Southwest) aided the Rams both on the offesnive and defensive side of the court with six points, five assists, four rebounds, and four steals. Alexandria Lindsay (Davison, Mich./Davison) has eight rebounds for the Rams.
