MINNEAPOLIS-- After leading for much of the first 30 minutes, women's basketball ran out of steam in a tough, 65-57, loss to Crown College on Saturday night. North Central led through three quarters and got a huge night from it's star player, Lizzy Swanson, but they came up short in the final minutes in their last game before the Christmas holiday.
Senior Lizzy Swanson (Askov, Minn./East Central) poured in a game-high 32 points but it was not enough to carry the Rams as no other player was able to reach double-figures and that proved the difference. North Central led 48-40 after the third quarter and seemed to be controlling the tempo headed down the stretch before the Storm led the Rams to just nine points while notching 25 in the final quarter to earn the win.
Lizzy Swanson was recognized before tonight's game for becoming the North Central career scoring leader with her 12 points on Wednesday at the College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.).
The Rams will be back in action on January 4 when they host Maranatha Baptist University (Watertown, Wis.) at 6 p.m.
