ALEXANDRIA, Minn.-- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opened the 2017 Women's Golf Championship on Thursday at Alexandria Golf Club. North Central stands in seventh place in a field of eight full teams after the first 18 holes.

Junior Rebekah Winkel (Kansas City, Mo./Oak Park) shot a season low round of 104 to place 26th. Senior Amanda Roth (Appleton, Wis./Neenah) was next in 33rd. Senior Abbey Erzberger (Wauwatosa, Wis./Heritage Christian) ended up 35th while freshman Carolyn Williamson (Zion, Ill./Christian Life) finished 38th after day one.

The College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.) leads the team competition while Paulina DeJamco of Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) is atop the individual leader board with an 80 (+8).

The teams will get back to action tomorrow morning with an earlier than expected tee time. Expected wet conditions has pushed the start of play to 10 a.m. Saturday's final round is still scheduled for 11 a.m.
