MINNEAPOLIS - North Central University Women's Soccer (5-6, 1-5 UMAC) defeated Providence University College Pilots (3-4) on Saturday afternoon in Elliot Park on a score of 3-1. The game was scheduled as a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) game and North Central are now 2-0 against NCCAA opponents in 2017.
The Rams started the game strong and dominated offensively outshooting the Pilots, 16-11, and held the advantage on corner kicks, 4-2. Dakotah Sparrman (Apple Valley, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's) led the Rams offense with nine shots, four shots on goal, and two goals. Sparrman's second goal came in from a free kick and curled into the upper right corner in the 56th minute. Abby Schwinden (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) got the other goal for the Rams just three minutes later to extend the Rams lead.
