Rams Comeback Falls Short

MINNEAPOLIS - North Central Women's Soccer (5-7, 1-6 UMAC) fell to Bethany Lutheran College Vikings (4-9, 3-5 UMAC) in a Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) match on a scoreline of 4-2 on Wednesday afternoon in Minneapolis, Minn. The Rams went down on the Vikings in the 12th minute and never recovered completely. North Central held the advantage in shots thanks to a late offensive push to try and spark a comeback but ultimately couldn't overcome the Vikings lead late in the game.

The Vikings led 2-0 at half from two goals which cut through the Rams defense and doubled the lead shortly after the second half kickoff. Madison Perry had a hattrick for the Vikings and helping BLc go up 4-0 on the Rams in the 63rd minute. However, an offensive push from north Central gave the Rams some spark in the last 15 minutes. Ryen Huyser (Ravenna, Mich./Ravenna) scored her first collegiate goal from a Dakotah Sparrman (Apple Valley, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's) assist that came in from the corner back in across the face of goal for huyser to slot home for the go-ahead goal. Less than three minutes later Sparrman would make a run in towards goal, recieve a through ball, cut a defender and score. The Rams outshot the Vikings in the final 30 minutes of play but couldn't find the back of the net and overcome the Vikings early four goal lead.

Up Next: North Central will travel to Crown College in St. Bonifacious, Minn. for a UMAC matchup with Storm on Saturday October 14. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m.
