Eagles Top Rams In Final Game

MINNEAPOLIS - North Central University Women's Soccer (5-12, 2-10 UMAC) fell to The University of Northwestern-St. Paul (11-6-1, 11-0-1 UMAC) in the final Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) game of the season, 5-1, at home on Saturday afternoon. The win for Northwestern secured the UMAC Regular Season banner and award for the Eagles. The contest was the final regular season game for the Rams for the 2017 season.

The Rams and Eagles were deadlocked until the 30th minute when the Eagles got on the board and less than a minute later the Eagles doubled their lead to 2-0. The Rams would get a goal back in the 31st minute on a soaring ball from Anna Hartwig (Eagle River, Wis./Northland Pines) that cleared the UNW keeper's hands into the back of the net. However, the Eagles got three unanswered goals in the second half for the eventual 5-1 win.

Following this game, the Rams concluded their 2017 season with a 5-12 overall record and 2-10 record in the UMAC. The Rams are not eligable for post-season competition and will begin preparations for the nontraditional spring season and the 2018 season.
