MINNEAPOLIS-- North Central University men's and women's tennis will have a new leader in 2017-18 as Carin Tuff has been selected as the next head coach for the Rams. Following an extensive hiring process North Central director of athletics Greg Johnson annouced Tuff's hire on Wednesday.
Tuff comes to North Central after working on the coaching staff at Southwest Christian High School (Chaska, Minn.) and has five years of high school coaching experience. As an active player herself, Tuff competes through Tennis Link and the USTA Northern League where she carries a 4.5 level player standing.
"Carin brings a well-rounded background in her sport, faith, and life to North Central to lead our men's and women's tennis student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Greg Johnson. "Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious, as is the way she cares for individuals. I look forward to watching our programs' continued growth under her leadership."
Looking to continue the forward momentum of the program, Tuff plans to grow a strong foundation for student athletes in every area.
"Grabbing the baton and leading the charge in building the tennis program at NCU is an opportunity I am grateful for and beyond thrilled about. I look forward to creating a positive and competitive culture and continuously striving for improvement in all that we do on and off and the court."
Tuff currently works as a Marketing and Branding Specialist Account Executive at Halo Branded Solutions in Minneapolis. She received her Bachelor of Science in Global Business Management from Arizona State University. The mother of three adult children, including a daughter, that is currently freshman at North Central, she resides with her husband in Bloomington.
Coach Tuff and the tennis squads will begin their season on March 17 at home verses Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.).
