MINNEAPOLIS, Minn - Senior night in Clark Danielson Gymnasium capped off the 2017 campaign for the North Central University volleyball team. NCU fell at home to Wisconsin-Superior 3-1 in the final match of the season. The Yellowjackets won the first set 25-19 before the Rams won the second set 28-26. Wisconsin-Superior won the final two sets 25-23, and 25-17 in hard fought Upper Midwest Athletic Conference contest.

Emma Middendorf led the way for the Rams offensively as she tallied 11 kills. Bethany Wollman added eight kills to go along with seven kills from freshman Grace Hart. Seniors Ashley Kelzer and Katie Strand each added six kills a piece to round out the Rams offensive attack. Maddie Stocker recorded 28 digs in the back row. Grace Hart added 14 digs to go along with 11 digs from Bethany Wollman.
All four sets were tightly contested, but the second set proved to be the most thrilling set. With the score tied at 23-23 a kill from Brylee Colligan gave the Yellowjackets the 24-23 advantage before a timeout was called by North Central. A service error tied the match up at 24-24. NCU took the lead after an attacking error from Brylee Colligan. A Yellowjacket kill tied the match at 25-25. Leah Nightingale recorded another kill for UWS to gain a 26-25 advantage. The Rams began their surge recording the next three points for the victory by way of back to back kills from Bethany Wollman and Katie Strand as well as a service ace from the senior, Strand to seal the set.
