Rams Race to Season Bests at UMAC Championship

BENSON, Minn.-- Women's Cross Country earned a ninth place finish at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday. Four Rams used the fast track and ideal conditions to post season or career best races at Benson Golf Course.

Junior Taylor Novak (Minot, N.D./Minot State) was the top finisher for NCU with a 68th place result in a time of 29:31.5, her second best effort of the year. Junior Brianna Griffin (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg) was next in 70th place with a season best time of 29:45.3. 

Sophomore Raen Barcelon (Kodiak, Alaska/Kodiak) was 73rd in a season best time of 30:20.7. Freshman Sidney Palmer (Stillwater, Minn./homeschool) recorded a career best time of 30:29.5 to place 74th. Junior Danelle Pageler (Warren, Minn./Warren-Alvarado-Oslo) used a career best time of 32:09.3 to finish 83rd overall.

North Central's team average time of 30:27.2 was also a season best effort.

The Rams will wrap up their season on November 11 at the 2017 NCAA Division III Central Region Championship. The region championship will be hosted by Carleton College (Northfield, Minn.) with the women's 6000 meter race scheduled to start at Noon.
