Box Score MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- After winning their previous two games North Central University Women's Basketball dropped a road conference game to Bethany Lutheran College on Saturday. The Rams will have a chance to bounce back as they continue their season ending, five game road stretch with a trip to Presentation College on Tuesday evening.
North Central (7-14, 3-8) found themselves down 39-31 at halftime on Saturday at Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.) but could not find the needed push to get back in the fight on the way to an 86-64 loss to the Vikings. The Rams stayed within a few possessions in the first half and were down just 31-30 with 1:41 left in the opening half but an 8-1 run pushed BLC to their halftime margin.
NCU fell behind by double-figures early in the second half and the Vikings pulled away for the win. Senior Jorie Grenell (Lakeville, Minn./Spring Lake Park) led NCU with 18 points and 5 assists. Grenell currently needs just 53 points to reach 1000 for her North Central career.
Senior Elisabeth Trickey (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) recorded a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds along with 5 steals. Sophomore Melissa Kidd (Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) also notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Tuesday the Rams will be back on the road, in the midst of a five game stretch that has NCU ending the regular season away from home. Presentation College (Aberdeen, S.D.) will host the Rams for 5:30 p.m. non-conference game. The Saints are 10-10 on the year and will be wrapping up their regular season with Tuesday's tilt versus North Central.
