Student Athlete Leadership Council

SALC's Purpose 

The North Central University Student-Athlete Leadership Council serves to generate a voice and bridge the gap between administration and student-athletes. 

Mission Statement 

Our Student-Athlete Leadership Council is committed to enhancing the student-athlete experience while striving to create equal opportunity and welfare. SALC's values of Integrity, Diversity, Inclusiveness, and being Christ-like will be promoted throughout our campus as we act as a liaison between student-athletes and administration while cultivating a Christ-centered student-athlete image. 
 

Constitution

Article I Membership

1. SALC will consist of no more than 8 Student Athlete Members and no less than 6 members.

2. There must be an application and interview process overseen by the members of SALC.

3. There must be at least 2 members of each sex on the committee.

4. Members of SALC are expected to adhere to NCU, UMAC, NCAA, and NCCAA guidelines and policies.
 

Article II Meetings

1. There will be Bi-Weekly meetings excluding unforeseen circumstances.

2. In the case of three no-call no-shows that member's future in SALC is up to the discretion of the committee.

        a. Excused absences include: medical, family, athletic events, school, or other which is up to the discretion of the board.

3. It's expected that all members come prepared given the meeting agenda, and they are expected to give full attention and participation in the meeting.
 

Article III Election Process

1. Members must vote for top 3 choices in a tiered voting system.

        a. First place vote is worth 3 points, 2nd place vote is worth 2 points, 3rd place vote is worth 1 point and no vote is worth 0 points.

2. The member with the most points will be elected to his or her position.

3. Members may not vote for themselves.
 

Article III Voting on Committee Actions

1. Any member may bring up an action at the end of a meeting and that action will then be voted on at the beginning of the following meeting.

2. Each member gets 1 vote.

3. Majority required to move forward with the decision.

4. In case of a tie the SALC liaison will be the deciding vote.
 

Article IV Additional Amendments

1. Amendments to this constitution may be introduced at the conclusion of any meeting. Voting shall occur at the next meeting with the new amendment       taking effect following the decision.

2. If the amendment passes, it shall be written in the constitution and followed immediately.
