Box Score MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. The North Central University Women's Basketball team put a scare into Northland College Friday night as the young Rams showed signs of their continued growth early in the 2010-11 season but fell 70-64. The Rams got hot in the second half and were able to tie the game up twice at 46-46 with 11 minutes left and at 49-49 a minute later after a Shoshana Womeldorf three pointer. The Rams had nine different players score in the game with four reaching double figures. The LumberJills were led by Maria Mackey who scored 26 points. Mackey had 15 points at halftime and was a perfect 5-5 from the field, including 3-3 from behind the three point line, and was 2-2 at the free throw line. She missed just three of her 12 shots for the game.
Jorie Grenell led NCU with 15 points and Elisabeth Trickey followed with 11. Julia Skeesick and Christina Goodman each scored 10 points.
NCU will return to the court Tuesday night when they host the Presentation College Saints (Aberdeen, S.D.) at 5:30 p.m.
