North Central Overtaken by Vikings and Knights

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central University Volleyball is still in search of its first conference win of the year after a pair of 3-0 losses over the weekend. Friday NCU was defeated 3-0 by Bethany Lutheran College before being knocked off by the same tally on Saturday by Martin Luther College.

Friday evening North Central was defeated 25-6, 25-13 and 25-19 by Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.) in Mankato. ). Senior Mariah Simonson (Zumbrota, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) along with freshmen Sarah Trickey (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) and Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) each recorded five kills. Simonson and High each had two block assists.

Saturday North Central tried to rebound on the road at Martin Luther College (New Ulm, Minn.) but was knocked off 25-7, 25-13 and 25-21. Mariah Simonson recorded at team high nine kills with Jamie High putting down six kills. Sophomore Veronica Parks (Lakeville, Minn./Apple Valley) recorded 10 digs.

North Central will be back in action at home next weekend when they host The College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.), Northland College (Ashland, Wis.) and Northwestern College (St. Paul, Minn.). Friday evening NCU hosts St. Scholastica at 7 p.m. Saturday the Rams will host Northland at 1 p.m. and Northwestern at 6 p.m.
