MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central University Women's Soccer got a goal in the 41st minute and held Crown College off the scoreboard for a 1-0 home victory on Saturday afternoon. The victory wraps up the Rams regular season as they prepare for the NCCAA National Championship Tournament on November 7-10.
Freshman Shelby Norman (Winstead, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) fired home her first career goal in the 41st minute and it would eventually become her first career game winner as the Rams defense shutout the Storm. Sophomore Megan Kaczmarek (Green Bay, Wis./Pulaski) and senior Christina Goodman (Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins) assisted on the goal.
Senior goalkeeper Noelle Stordock (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) kept her third clean sheet of the season and the Rams defense earned their fourth shutout of the year.
North Central wraps up the regular season 3-14-1 overall and 1-13 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play. The Rams will be back at practice over the next week as they prepare for the NCCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Championship Tournament on November 7-10 in Kissimmee, Florida.
The Rams earned a spot in the NCCAA National Tournament by winning their region in an exciting shootout win over Providence College (Otterburne, Manitoba) on Wednesday. Seeding and game times will be released by the NCCAA on Monday.
