MANKATO, Minn.-- North Central University Women's Soccer was defeated 3-0 by Bethany Lutheran College on Friday afternoon. The match marked the debut of North Central University in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.
Bethany Lutheran (2-3, 1-0) out shot the Rams (2-2, 0-1) 17-7 in the first half on the way to a 1-0 lead after the first 45 minutes. The Vikings got their first goal in the 29th minute after several minutes of sustained attack and that tally would stand as the eventual game winner.
North Central was over run by the Vikings attack even further in the second half with a 22-1 shot advantage that produced two more scores, one in the 56th minute and another in the 60th. Overall the Vikings outshot NCU 39-8.
Senior goalkeeper Noelle Stordock (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) made 20 saves in a valiant effort to keep the Vikings attack off the score board.
North Central will return to action at tomorrow with another UMAC match. The Rams will face Martin Luther College (New Ulm, Minn.) at Noon in New Ulm.
