Rams Lose Two Weekend Conference Matches

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central University Women's Soccer is still in search of its first conference win of the year after dropping both parts of a weekend double header. NCU lost 3-1 at Crown College on Friday before being shutout 4-0 on Saturday at the University of Minnesota-Morris. 

Friday the Rams traveled to Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) and fell behind early after the Storm scored in the first five minutes. The rest of the half was scoreless but Crown added another goal in the 50th minute that would stand as the eventual game winner.

Senior forward Christina Goodman (Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins) got a score back in the 60th minute to give NCU a chance of getting back in the match. However, a third Storm goal game in the 72nd minute to finalize the Rams fate.

The goal was a team leading fourth on the season for Goodman.

Saturday NCU traveled to face Minnesota-Morris (Morris, Minn.) and battled hard against the second place team in the UMAC. A scoreless draw at halftime was broken in the 67th minute with Cougars score. 

Morris would add goals in the 69th, 82nd and 90th minute to take a 4-0 victory and hold on to their second place status in the league standings.

North Central will be back in action again on Wednesday when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Superior for a 4 p.m. match with the Yellow Jackets of the NCAA Division III Wisconsint Intercolligiate Athletic Conference.
