Box Score MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- Women's Basketball was defeated at home on Tuesday night by Northwestern College. The Eagles build a big lead in the first half and remained in charge throughout the rest of the game keeping the Rams in search of their second win in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play.
With both teams beginning the second half of UMAC play the Rams hoped to get on track with a victory against second place Northwestern College (St. Paul, Minn.) on Tuesday. North Central (4-12, 1-7) fell behind by double figures with around seven minutes remaining in the first half before Northwestern surged away for good.
After leading 43-25 at halftime, Northwestern outscored the Rams by three in the second half to take an 85-64 final. The Rams did well to trim a lead that was as big as 37 to under 20 but the margin was simply to big to overcome.
Junior Julia Skeesick (Victoria, Minn./Chaska) scored a career best 17 points with 4 assists and 3 steals. Senior Elisabeth Trickey (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) added 14 points with 3 steals.
Freshman Shelby Norman (Winsted, Minn./Winsted) added 12 points and 7 rebounds off the bench to notch double-figure scoring in back to back games for the first time in her career.
Freshman Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) added six points and a team high seven rebonds.
North Central will be back in action on Friday when they host the University of Minnesota-Morris (Morris, Minn.) at 5:30 p.m.
