Rams Fall Short in Battle with Knights

Minneapolis, MN-- After a trip to Iowa last weekend, the North Central University Volleyball team (5-19, 1-7) returned home for a conference battle with Martin Luther College (New Ulm, Minn.). North Central fell short, losing the match 3-0 (25-15, 25-7, 25-18).

The Rams were led by sophomore Sarah Trickey (Waseca, Minn./ Waseca) who led the team with seven kills. Trickey also recorded eight digs and one block assist in the match. Sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./ Buffalo) had six kills in the match and a team-high 11 digs. Sophomore Whitney Reames (Vassar, Minn./ Vassar) continued her strong offensive play with five kills in the match. Freshman Elissa Pheneger (Roseville, Minn./ Concordia Academy) led the team with 17 assists.

North Central recorded 21 kills and 21 errors on 90 total attacks in the match (.000 pct) against the Knights (13-9, 6-2).

The Rams continue play Saturday as they host Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.) at 1pm tomorrow and then play the University of Northwestern- St. Paul (St. Paul, Minn.) at 7pm in Minneapolis.
