Box Score 2 Minneapolis, Minn.-- The North Central Univeristy volleyball team traveled to the Hamline Triangular Tuesday afternoon to play against two of their toughest challenges of the season.
In game one, the Rams (5-25, 1-11) played against Hamline Univeristy (St. Paul, Minn.) of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Hamline (17-12) had already swept Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) and Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.) earlier in the season.
Hamline won the match 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-13). North Central was led by Sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./ Buffalo) who had a team-high five kills and only two errors in the match (.231pct.). The Rams had a solid defensive effort from Sophomore captain Veronica Parks (Lakeville, Minn./ Apple Valley) who had a team-high nine digs in the contest.
In game two, the Rams played against the University of Wisconsin Stout (Menomonie, Wisc.) of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
North Central (5-26) lost the match to the Blue Devils (15-14) in straight sets (25-8, 25-16, 25-6). Jamie High led the way again with five kills and one block assist in the match. Sophomore Karlee Cox (Des Moines, Iowa/ Saydel) had three kills against Stout to go along with seven digs. Freshman Elissa Pheneger (Roseville, Minn./ Concordia Academy) assisted on all 10 of the Rams kills in the match and she also posted a team-high 10 digs.
The Rams continue action on Friday at the Univeristy of Minnesota Morris (Morris, Minn.) at 7p.m. North Central then finishes their season at Crown College on Saturday at 11a.m.
