Box Score Minneapolis, Minn.-- North Central University (4-16, 1-5) hosted the University of Minnesota-Morris (Morris, Minn.) Friday night and lost 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-17).
The Cougars (11-6, 5-0) entered the match with an undefeated Upper Midwest Athletic Conference record and continued their dominant play Friday night as they defeated the Rams in straight sets.
After losing the first set 25-10, the Rams fought hard in the next two sets as they held an early lead in both games before coming up short.
North Central was led by sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./ Buffalo) as she recorded a game-high eight kills in the contest. Sophomore Sarah Trickey (Waseca, Minn./ Waseca) had six kills and a game-high 13 digs. Freshman Elissa Pheneger (Roseville, Minn./ Concordia Academy) continued her sensational rookie season with a game-high 21 assists.
The Rams had 25 kills and 24 errors on 92 total attacks (.011 pct) in the contest.
North Central continues play Saturday afternoon as they play Crown College (St. Bonifacious, Minn.) at 12pm and Mount Mary University (Milwaukee, Wisc.) at 4pm at the Clark-Danielson Gymnasium in Minneapolis.
