Grenell Leads Rams to Run Away Win over Mt Mary

Box Score

MILWAUKEE, Wis.-- Women's Basketball began Tuesday night's match up with Mt. Mary College on a 21-3 run and never looked back on the way to their third win of the year. North Central got double-figure scoring form three starters and held the hosting Angels to under 28 percent shooting in a convincing 69-40 road win.

North Central climbed above .500 in the win column with their victory that was highlighted by an offensive outburst from senior Jorie Grenell (Lakeville, Minn./Spring Lake Park) and a stout defensive effort that held Mt. Mary to just 16 field goals on the night. Grenell reached double figure scoring for the third straight time this season after struggling with just seven points in the first two games of the year. She was 7-15 from the floor including 5-7 from behind the three point line while going 7-7 at the free throw line for 26 points. Grenell added seven boards and six assists.

Sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) notched a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds to go along with five steals and five assists. High has had a double figure points and rebounds in four of the first five Rams games of the season.

Senior Julia Skeesick (Victoria, Minn./Chaska) added ten points in the Rams win. North Central held Mt. Mary to 16 of 59 shooting (.271) from the floor and won the rebounding battle 45-38.

North Central gets to 3-2 on the season which represents the most wins in the month of November in over five seasons. NCU earned its third win of the season on December 8 last season and was 4-6 before the Christmas Break. The Rams ended the year 8-20.

The Rams are back in action when they host the NCCAA North Central Region Preview next Friday and Saturday. Friday NCU takes on Providence University-College (Otterburne, Manitoba) at 3 p.m. before hosting Trinity Bible College (Ellendale, N.D.) on Saturday at 3 p.m.
