Weather Sends Softball Indoors for Weekend Conference Double-Headers

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central University softball and college programs across the midwest have been victimized by one of the most unpredictable spring weather seasons in recent memory. But after nearly a month away from game action the Rams will take part in a marathon softball weekend that features three double headers in three days to be played against teams in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference at local indoor facilities.

North Central (2-5, 0-1) has only played one game since March 15, an 8-0 loss to Northwestern College (St. Paul, Minn.) on Monday, April 8. Because of so many weather related cancellations the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and its member schools have worked together to find indoor facitlies in the Twin Cities available for rent this weekend. Beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday the teams begin action that will have all eight conference members playing at least one double-header over three days.

Friday morning North Central take on The University of Minnesota-Morris (Morris, Minn.) at 7 a.m. at the Vadnais Heights Dome in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota. The teams have the facility reserved until 11 a.m. and will have the opportunity to get a pair of games in during that time slot. The Cougars will be the home team on the score board in that match-up.

Saturday NCU will be the home team as they host The College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.) at 11 p.m. at the Vadnais Heights Dome.

The Rams will wrap up their six-game weekend by playing Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Rosemount Dome in Rosemount, Minnesota. Crown will be the home team in Sunday's action.
