Box Score 2 MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central Baseball fought gallantly but came up short in a marathon of three double-headers in three days over the weekend. North Central (1-18, 1-7) was able to earn their first win of the year on Friday, grabbing game two of a double-dip versus Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) by a 17-7 final score. Freshman William Rosevear (Canton, Mich./Homeschool) earned the victory on the mound going six innings and scattering three earned runs over three hits with three strikeouts. Senior Ian Andrews (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) was 2-3 on the day with four RBI, a triple and a walk. Freshman Cody Van Sickle (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) was 3-4 with a pair of doubles and a walk. Freshman Nick Kelly (Hudson, Iowa/Hudson) was 3-5 with a double and a pair of RBI. The Rams were back at the grindstone on Saturday with a double header at home versus Northland College (Ashland, Wis.). NCU dropped game one by a 6-0 score before being defeated 15-2 by the Jacks. Game one saw the Rams pick up just six hits over the ninning affair. Game two saw the Jacks pound out 15 runs, 9 earned, on 17 hits. North Central commited six errors in the loss. Gary Ramos drove in the only Rams earned run of the game in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly that scored a runner from third.
