Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn.-- North Central University Softball got back to action on Monday evening for the first time since March 15. Several weather postponements for multiple Upper Midwest Athletic Conference games kept the Rams from getting their league schedule underway. After waiting over three weeks NCU had a painful return to the field after being defeated 8-0 by Northwestern College in six innings in St. Paul.
The Rams (2-5, 0-1) did not record a hit in an unlikely Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opener that was originally scheduled for last Monday. NCU had only one base runner when senior Bethany Bostron (Spicer, Minn./Bostron Academy) reached on an error and then stole second base in the top of the forth.
Bostron also took the loss in the circle allowing three earned runs on 12 Northwestern hits.
The Rams are scheduled to host UMAC power The College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.) for a 3 p.m. double header tomorrow at the home field of fellow UMAC team Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota.
The Rams are meeting the Saints in a game that was postponed several times last week.
