Rams Stung by Jackets

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- Women's Soccer was defeated 1-0 by the University of Wisconsin-Superior at home on Tuesday afternoon. After controlling the action for much of the first 30 minutes the teams were scoreless at halftime before the visiting Yellowjackets broke the draw early in the second half and ended one up on the Rams.

The Rams looked like they might break through for their second win of the young 2013 season but Superior got a goal in the 50th minute and it would stand as the game winner in a tightly contested non-conference match for each team.

The Jackets outshot NCU 11-6 on the day. Rams freshman keeper Rachael Chant (Shakopee, Minn./Bethany Academy) made five saves on six shots faced.

North Central will be back in action on Friday afternoon with their final non-conference game of the season. The Rams host Maranatha Baptist Bible College (Watertown, Wis.) at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Friday, September 20, NCU will open their 2013 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference schedule with a 4:15 p.m. home match-up with Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.).
