MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central fell behind early and never got their offense going in a 4-0 loss at the hands of Martin Luther College in an Uppper Midwest Athletic Conference game at Parade Stadium on Saturday night. The Rams gave up four first half goals but a shutout in the second half was not enough to get NCU back in the game.
Martin Luther (New Ulm, Minn.) got what eventually stood as the game winner in the fourth minute and added another in the seventh to grab control of the match early on. North Central (1-6, 0-2) was able to even out play in the next 20 minutes but the Knights once again got the offense going adding two more tallies in the 30th and 37th minute to all but ice the game.
The second half saw NCU hold the ball in possession more and limited the Knights without a shot in the fiinal 45 minutes. North Central was outshot 11-2 in the match. Corners were even at three a piece.
The Rams will be off until next weekend when they make the northern trek for a UMAC weekend double-header. Friday night NCU plays at The College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.) at 4:15 p.m. Saturday North Central will play at Northland College (Ashland, Wis.) at 2:15 p.m.
