Box Score NEW ULM, Minn.-- North Central University Volleyball is making the southern swing in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play over the weekend. The trip began with a 3-0 loss on to Martin Luther College on Friday night
The Rams fell behind 11-0 in the first set and never recovered in a 25-7 opening game loss. In set two NCU got to within 16-8 but eventually lost 25-13. Martin Luther closed the door by jumping out to a 19-10 lead in the final set and sealed the match win 25-12.
Sophomore Sarah Trickey (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) led NCU with six kills and added seven digs. Freshman Elissa Pheneger (Roseville, Minn./Concordia Academy) had 12 assists and a team high 9 digs.
Sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) recorded five kills and eight digs.
The Rams return to action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.)
