Box Score 2 MINNEAPOLIS, MN-- After winning their first two games of the season on Friday, the Rams could not keep the win streak going as they dropped a pair of games to Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, IA) and Providence University College (Manitoba) on Saturday.
In match number one, North Central University lost to Faith 3-0 (25-16, 25-7, 25-10). The Rams were led by sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, MN/ Buffalo) as she recorded a team-high five kills. Freshman setter Elissa Peneger (Roseville, MN/ Concordia Academy) led the team with ten digs and 12 assists in the contest.
The Rams lost their second match of the day to Providence 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-19). NCU was once again led by the offensive attack of Jamie High as she had a team-high 11 kills and nine digs in the match. Sophomore Sarah Trickey (Waseca, MN/ Waseca) had seven kills in the match to go-along with nine digs. Sophomore captain Veronica Parks (Lakeville, MN/ Apple Valley) also recorded nine digs in the contest. After dropping the first two sets, the Rams battled hard in a tightly contested set number three. The Rams comeback fell short, however dropping the set 25-19.
NCU continues action on Tuesday, September 10th as they play host to Malcalester College at 7pm.
