Pheneger Records 1000th Career Assist

Minneapolis, Minn.-- The North Central University Volleyball team continued conference play Friday night as they took on The College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.).

The Rams (5-12, 1-7) struggled to get any sort of offensive attack going all night as the team kill percentage was -.074 (12 kills, 19 errors, 95 total attacks); as they lost to the Saints (11-9, 6-2) 3-0 (25-10, 25-7, 25-14).

The Rams were led by sophomore Karlee Huber (Rapid City, S.D. / Dakota Wesleyan Univ.) who had a team high five kills for the Rams to go with a service ace, a solo block, and eight digs. Freshman Maddie Saice (Apple Valley, Minn. / Apple Valley) had three service aces in the match. Junior Karlee Cox (Des Moines, Iowa / Saydel) was second on the team in kills with four to go along with six digs and a block assist in the loss.

The night was highlighted by sophomore Elissa Pheneger (Roseville, Minn / Concordia Academy) who recorded her 1000th career assist in the contest. Pheneger became the fifth player in Rams histroy to surpass the milestone and was the second fastest in school history to reach the mark. She currently ranks third in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference with 7.27 assists per set.

North Central continues play tomorrow afternoon as they take on Northland College (Ashland, Wisc.) at 1p.m. in the Clark-Danielson Gymnasium before making the road trip to St. Paul to take on the University of Northwestern-St. Paul at 6p.m.
