Rams Split Weekend Road Trip after Loss to Saints

Box Score

DULUTH, Minn.-- North Central got back to action on Satuday afternoon after getting their second Upper Midwest Athletic Conference win on Friday night. Despite a great game from several key players for the Rams, the The College of St. Scholastica pulled away near the middle of the first half and never looked back, handing NCU a 91-65 defeat.

North Central (8-9, 2-5) was down just 18-14 with a little less than 12 minutes to play in the first half but a 21-3 Saints run created separation that the Rams could never overcome. The Rams did get within 41-30 with about a minute left in the half before trailing 43-30 at the break.

St. Scholastica immediately went to work in the first four minutes of the second half, extended their lead to 54-32. NCU got a pair of buckets to get the difference down to 54-36 at the 15:25 mark but that would be the final time the difference was under 20 the rest of the way.

Sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) was the high scorer in the contest with 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Senior Jorie Grenell (Lakeville, Minn./Spring Lake Park) was close behind with 18 points and 4 assists. Senior point guard Julia Skeesick (Victoria, Minn./Chaska) added 11 points and 6 assists.

The Rams wrapped up the weekend 1-1 after defeating Northland College (Ashland, Wis.) by a 54-47 final on Friday night. NCU will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel across the Twin Cities to take on The University of Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.) at 5:30 p.m.
