Box Score MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central hung around for much of the first half before The College of St. Scholastica established a double-figure lead. After battling to stay within reach for the second 20 minutes the Rams ran out of gas in an 80-62 home loss on Friday.
North Central (8-14, 3-10) was within 32-30 with 5:53 left in the first half but Saints used a 16-6 run to end the first period and take a 48-36 halftime lead. Over the second 20 mintues NCU would get the difference down to 10 several times including with 7:13 left when senior Jorie Grenell (Lakeville, Minn./Spring Lake Park) got a jumper that made it 65-55. But that would be as close as the Rams would come the rest of the way.
Sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) led NCU with 17 points and 10 boards. Senior Julia Skeesick (Victoria, Minn./Chaska) added 14 points, 8 assists and 3 steals. Jorie Grenell scored 13 points.
The Rams close out their regular season with a 3 p.m. tip off on Saturday with Northland College (Ashland, Wis.). The day includes festivities for Parents Day and Senior Night.
