Box Score Minneapolis, Minn.-- The North Central University women's basketball team lost to Northland College 49-48 on Saturday afternoon to finish their Upper Midwest Athletic Conference schedule.
After trailing 47-41 with 2:16 left to play the Rams (8-15, 3-11) rallied back to tie the game at 48-48. North Central tied the game with six seconds left by stealing the in bounds pass as Shelby Norman assisted Jamie High under the basket for two. After a North Central foul, Northland (Ashland, Wisc.) sealed the victory by making one of two free throws.
The Rams were led by senior Jorie Grenell (Lakeville, Minn./ Spring Lake Park) as she scored a game-high 19 points while adding a pair of assists and two rebounds. Sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./ Buffalo) had 13 points and a game-high 16 rebounds while tallying three assists and two blocks in the contest. Senior Julia Skeesick (Victoria, Minn./ Chaska) had 12 points while dishing out three assists. Senior Emily Aleckson (Braham, Minn./ Cambridge Christian) scored four points with four rebounds and a team-high three blocks in the loss.
North Central continues action this Friday as they travel to Ankeny, Iowa to play in the National Christian College Athletic Association North Central Regional Tournament. The Lady Rams play Providence University College (Manitoba, Canada) at 2p.m. in the Faith Baptist Bible College gymnasium.
