Box Score MORRIS, Minn.-- North Central traveled to The University of Minnesota-Morris on Friday night to begin a their final road trip of the regular season. The Rams kept within reach for most of the first half before the Cougars dispatched the Rams in the second half in an 84-45 NCU defeat.
The Rams trailed the Cougars just 21-15 with around seven minutes left in the opening half before a decisive 16-8 UMM run sent NCU to the half down 37-18. The second half was more of the same as the Cougars only increased their advantage on the way to a run away victory.
Senior Jorie Grenell (Lakeville, Minn./Spring Lake Park) scored 15 points along with 4 assists. Grenell is now just 55 points from breaking the North Central career scoring record. Sophomore Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) scored 11 points with 7 boards and 4 steals. Senior Emily Aleckson (Braham, Minn./Braham) also scored 11 points.
NCU looks to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) in the final road UMAC game of the year for the Rams. The game tips off at 3 p.m.
The Rams defeated Crown 75-52 in Minneapolis on January 24. North Central plays its final four UMAC games of the year at home over the following two weekends.
