Rams Stumble Versus Vikings Despite Trickey's Singles Victory

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- Women's Tennis came up on the short end of the season opening scoreline on Tuesday evening. The Rams fell 6-1 to Bethany Lutheran College in match that ended with two singles matches unfinished due to time constraints.

North Central opened their regular season on Tuesday with a match that was also the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opener for the Rams and Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.). Sophomore Sarah Trickey (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) was the lone point earner for the Rams with a 6-4, 6-4 victory in number four singles action.

The Rams third doubles team of senior Regina Rassmussen (Richland Center, Wis./Eagle) and sophomore Hannah Hein (Montevideo, Minn./Montevideo) came up just short in an 8-6 loss. The match ended with sophomore Mary Metzger up one set but trailing in the second, 5-4.

North Central will be back in action at the Baseline Tennis Center on Saturday. NCU hosts The College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, Minn.) at 6 p.m.
