MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- In the second day of the opening weekend for UMAC conference play, the North Central Women's Soccer team lost their second game in as many days to the Lumberjills of Northland College.
After losing 5-0 on Friday to St. Scholastica, the Rams looked much better on Saturday, but were still not able to break through for a goal.
The Rams played well in the first half, controlling a lot of the ball and often working it deep into the Jills' defensive end, but just could not connect on a final ball.
Northland struck in the 42nd minute off of a corner kick, giving them the advantage going into the break. The Jills then added another goal on the other side of halftime in the 53rd minute, making the score 2-0.
This would be the final scoreline, making the Rams have to wait until next weekend to get their first conference win as they go on the road to face Martin Luther College. The match will kickoff at 2:00 PM in New Ulm.
