MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- Women's Soccer is still looking for their first goal of the conference season after being shutout in a pair of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference road matches over the weekend. Friday the Rams fell 5-0 to Martin Luther College before falling 4-0 to the University of Minnesota-Morris on Saturday afternoon.
Friday, the Rams conceded just six minutes into the match versus Martin Luther College (New Ulm, Minn.) and trailed 4-0 at halftime. Freshman goalkeeper Taylor Patch (Bismarck, N.D./Century) stopped 10 shots but the Rams were out gunned 25-0 in the shots column.
On Saturday the Rams traveled to take on The University of Minnesota-Morris (Morris, Minn.) and once again fell behind early with the Cougars taking a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute but remained within reach as that score held until halftime. But the Cougars added three more tallies in the final 40 minutes and pulled away from the Rams. Once again Taylor Patch made a valiant effort in the net making 14 saves but the Rams were outshot 36-0.
NCU will be back in action on Tuesday with an NCCAA regional match-up versus Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, Iowa). The Rams will host the Eagles at Coon Rapids Soccer Complex at 2 p.m.
