Box Score MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- Men's Soccer dropped both ends of a weekend Upper Midwest Athletic Conference double-header on Friday and Saturday. Friday the Rams stood toe-to-toe with Martin Luther College but fell 1-0 in a very evenly played contest. North Central (0-6, 0-4) is still in search of their first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference victory after falling in a very even contest with Martin Luther College on Friday. The Rams allowed a single goal midway through the first half and, despite nearly matching the Knights shot for shot, could not find an equalizer. The Knights owned a narrow 20-19 shot advantage that also produced an 11-9 margin in shots on frame. Sophomore Andrew Eliason (Ypsilanti, Mich./Milan) continues to be a reliable option in net after he made 10 saves of the 11 attempts on net.
Saturday had the Rams at The University of Minnesota-Morris (Morris, Minn.) for the back half of their weekend double-header. North Central was unable to get much offense going in the first 45 minutes but did hold the Cougars to a 0-0 draw at the break. But a 15-1 second half shot advantage produced a pair of UMM scores that would represent the final 2-0 margin. Overall Morris outshot the Rams 29-2. Eliason stopped 10 shots of the 12 fired on frame by the Cougars.
North Central will get back to match action on a tight turn around this week. The Rams will host Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, Iowa) on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. at Coon Rapids Soccer Complex. The Eagles come in as the fifth ranked team in the NCCAA Division II national poll with a 5-1-1 record on the season.
