MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Women's Soccer team headed into Tuesday's matchup against Faith Baptist Bible College desparately looking to congere up some offense. Struggling to do so in their last few games, the Rams broke out of their scoring slump with a great performance Tuesday versus the Eagles, defeated them 3-0.

It did not take long for the Rams to break through the Eagles defense, getting a beautiful goal from junior forward, Karlee Hoover (Estero, Fla. / Estero) in the ninth minute of play. Unfortunately, Hoover would suffer a knee injury minutes later that would keep her out for the rest of the game.

The Rams offense pushed forward without Hoover though, and in the 17th minute a Laura Leist (Menasha, Wis. / Menasha) pass put junior forward, Shelby Norman (Winstead, Minn. / Watertown-Mayer) in on goal. Norman made no mistake, slotting the cross into the back of the net, doubling the Rams lead.

The score would hold steady until deep into the second half, when in the 80th minute Norman would add another goal to her tally. This time it was sophomore midfielder Morgan Freitag (Lakeville, Minn. / Lakeville North) who provided the pass, sending Norman in on goal and giving the Rams a 3-0 lead.

The Rams will look to use this good showing as a spring board for the rest of their season, first and foremost this weekend as they go on the road to Bethany Lutheran College and Crown College for a pair of UMAC Conference matchups. Friday's match against the Vikings will kick off at 5 P.M. in Mankato.
