Five Rams Score in Big Win at Faith Baptist

ANKENY, Iowa-- Women's Soccer played a dominant 90 minute match at Faith Baptist Bible College on Tuesday night. The Rams won 6-0, pitching a shutout and allowing just one shot over the full match.

Five players scored for North Central (7-8-1) on Tuesday in Ankeny. The Rams top score all season added to her unparalleled total as sophomore Dakotah Sparrman (Apple Valley, Minn./Shattuck-St Mary) opened her account on the day with goals just 11 seconds more than a minute apart in the 12th and 13th minute and the Rams were on their way. Freshman Linnea Madsen (Whitefish, Mont./Polson) added another goal in the 17th minute on an assist from senior Karlee Hoover (Naples, Fla./Estero) and the Rams led 3-0 at the break without allowing a shot of any kind over the 45 minute opener.

The Rams did not allow any opportunites for the host to rally as junior Morgan Freitag (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) scored on unassisted in the 63rd minute. Karlee Hoover got in on the action, tallying on an assist from Dakotah Sparrman in the 64th minute. After playing in goal the first 48 minutes, sophomore Heather Campbell (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) made the most of chance to play in the field, scoring unassisted in the 80th minute.

The final total saw NCU outshoot the Eagles 30-1, including 18-1 on frame. The Rams recorded 14 corner kick opportunities without conceding a single chance for the host. Freshman Monica Herrera (Capac, Mich./Capac) played the final 42 minutes in net recording the Rams only save required on the night. 

With the two goals and an assist Dakotah Sparrman continued her climb up the NCU record books. She already shattered the Rams single season record book and is now second all time in career points with 51. Karlee Hoover moved up the career standings as well with her goal and assist standing at 33 career points placing her fifth all time.

The victory secures NCU a spot in the NCCAA Region Championship game on October 31 hosted by the Rams at Elliot Park Field. They will take on the winner of the semi-final between Faith Baptist and Providence University-College (Otterburne, Manitoba) in a 12 p.m. championship match. The winner of the region earns an automatic berth in the NCCAA Division II National Championship Tournament.

Saturday the Rams return to regular season action on Saturday for their annual parents day match. The Rams host The University of Minnesota-Morris (Morris, Minn.) at 1 p.m. in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action.
