Women's Soccer Knocked off by Cougars

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- Women's Soccer fell behind early and never found a spark on Saturday afternoon. The University of Minnesota-Morris defeated North Central 7-1 at Elliot Park Field.

Just four minutes into the match North Central surrendered a goal and would allow another in the 10th and 16th minute to trail 3-0 and that is how things would stand at the break. Junior Dakotah Sparrman (Apple Valley, Minn./Shattock-St Marys) would earn and convert a penalty kick in the 48th minute that would seem to momentarily give the Rams some momentum but that proved shortlived.

Morris would score again less than three minutes later and that would end any doubt about the final outcome. The Cougars tallied twice in the 71st minute less than 30 seconds apart and added another in the 74th minute to reach the final score line. The Cougars convered all three of the penalty kicks they were give on the day.

North Central will be back in action again on Tuesday when they travel to Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.) for the final Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game of the year. The Rams and Vikings are scheduled for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
