Box Score MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central hosted The University Northwestern at home on Tuesday night to wrap up their home and away series in Upper Midwest Athletic play this season. The Eagles earned a 60-38 win over the Rams to complete the season sweep in 2014-15.
The Rams fell behind early in the first half and trailed by as many as 15 with around five minutes left in the opening period. The Rams managed to fight back by closing the half with a 6-0 run to make it 32-23 at halftime.
Straight away the Eagles created separation by scoring the first eight points of the second half and forced the lead out to 46-28 with 13:34 left. The Eagles would lead by as many as 21 with 9:14 left before got with 51-34 with just less than seven minutes remaining. But Northwestern put the clamps down and erased any chance the Rams had of mounting a comeback the rest of the way.
Junior Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) posted a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds along with 5 blocked shots. High needs just 46 points to become tenth player in NCU history to reach 1000 for her NCU career. Senior Shelby Norman (Askov, Minn./East Central) and junior Jenna Cielocha (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) both added six points for North Central.
North Central will be in action again this weekend when they travel to the southern end of the UMAC for a pair of league games. Friday NCU takes on Martin Luther College (New Ulm, Minn.) in a 5:30 p.m. tip off. Saturday the Rams are at Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, Minn.) for a 3 p.m. start.
