Scots Knock off Rams

ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Women's Tennis was back in action on Saturday in their second match of the season. The Rams were swept 9-0 by Macalester College in St. Paul.

North Central (0-2, 0-1 UMAC) struggled to find winners and were swept in three of nine matches versus Macalester College in a non-conference match played at the Scot's Leonard Center. Freshmen Allegra Edwards (Roseville, Minn./Minn. Virtual Acad.) and Amber Wolff (West Fargo, N.D./West Fargo) were defeated 8-1 the top doubles spot. Lisa Fitchner (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern), playing in her first match of 2015, and junior Hannah Hein (Montevideo, Minn./Montevideo) were also defeated 8-1 in the third doubles match.

Amber Wolff fell 6-0, 6-1 in the top singles spot while Allegra Edwards was defeated 6-2, 6-1 in the second singles match. Junior Sarah Trickey (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) lost 6-1, 6-0 in the fourth singles match as did Hannah Hein who played in the sixth spot in singles action.

North Central will be back at practice this week before hosting The University of Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.) on Saturday. The Rams take on the Eagles at 12:30 p.m. in a conference match played at Lifetime Fitness in Bloomington.
