Minneapolis, Minn.-- The North Central University Women's Soccer Team opened their 2015 conference schedule on the road against the Yellowjackets of the University of Wisconsin Superior.
Despite 13 shots, including five shots on goal, the Rams (1-3, 0-1) could not find the back of the net as they lost the game 2-0.
After a first half goal by Shelby Coombs of the Yellowjackets (Superior, Wisc.), NCU controlled the ball for much of the second half. The Rams best scoring chances came from senior Karlee Hoover (Estero, Fla./Estero) who hit one of the post in the 51st minute and then in the 80th minute the Superior (1-3, 1-0) keeper was able to run down a through pass from the Rams midfield before sophomore Dakotah Sparrman (Apple Valley, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary (U of Ark-Little Rock)) could run it down with a chance to tie the game.
UW-Superior added their second goal of the match in the 90th minute to extend their lead.
The Rams continue conference play on Tuesday, September 15th as they travel to Saint Paul to take on the University of Northwestern- St. Paul Eagles at 7:15 p.m.
